Free to Feed Cooking Class: Middle Eastern Favourites

  • 1 day course 7 June, 2017

In this class, our passionate and charismatic instructor will teach some of their favourite heart-warming Middle Eastern dishes. You will be introduced to classic Middle Eastern & Persian ingredients such as pomegranate molasses, barberries, sumac, dried limes, saffron, rosewater and orange blossom. You’ll begin with a dip and Persian tea on arrival and for main you’ll explore a dish such as a famous slow-cooked lamb with loads of goodies including saffron, turmeric, pistachios, yellow lentils OR Persian meatballs loaded with herbs and barberries and cooked in a rich tomato broth (Kofteh Sabzi) and a Persian rice. No class is complete without exploring a famous Middle Eastern side salad and delicious dessert (think Baghlava or Saffron Rice Pudding) too! This class will culminate in a shared feast of your own making! All materials included.

This class is facilitated by Free to Feed, a cooking school with all classes run by refugees and asylum seekers.
