Youth Art Club – Lino Block Art Life’s a Beach

  • 23 September, 2016

Sharks, seagulls, shells, surf & sand. Boats, boatsheds, lighthouses, fishing & conservation. The beach means many things to many people. We will look at how the beach has been depictured by others to produce a small lino print

Local artist Trish Bourke will demonstrate the ins and outs for using this medium including tools and techniques, transferring images onto lino and DIY printing techniques.
Using the theme of the Beach, participants will create multiple prints from their lino block onto paper.

Trish worked in galleries in Melbourne and London before having children. She started painting seriously when at home with three young children. Watercolour was easy, low toxicity and no fuss clean up. As her understanding of the medium grew Trish fell in love with the simplicity of colour mixing, the control of tone and the range of papers.
