Printmaking

  • 7 week course 4 February, 2019

Explore the process of mark making and the construction of an image through printmaking techniques including mono-types, lino-cut, collagraphs and etching onto plastic and metal.

Students will have freedom to work on their own projects throughout the course and will learn how to create depth, atmosphere, layering, tone and value within the printmaking medium as well as through their own practice. Materials list will be provided after the first class.

Note: No class on 11th March.

Your Tutor

Kate Piekutowski is an Australian/Polish artist from Hobart and has a Masters in Fine Art (printmaking) from UTAS. Being a first-generation child of migrants, she is intrigued by the conept of belonging and her homeland. Her work also explores European history and connection between two places. She has extensively travelled to artist residencies in Portugal, New Zealand, Greece, Italy and India which have resolved in a number of solo exhibitions in Tasminia and Victoria. She now lives in Melbourne and has a studio in Brunswick where she also teaches printmaking workshops.
