Sequential Art: Graphic Novels

Participants will explore visual storytelling through the lens of sequential art, developing an understanding of characterisation, illustration and storytelling techniques while creating their own graphic novel.

Your Tutor

Nathan Cole is an illustrator, comic artist and graphic designer originally from the USA. Nathan earned a Bacher of Fine Arts from The University of Iowa with an emphasis in Drawing & Painting. After emigrating to Australia, Nathan studied Graphic Design at the Commercial Arts & Training College, Melbourne. Nathan is the creator of Commander Canine, a super hero comic book, and the webcomic R&D. He is the founder and organiser of Indie Comic Con, a Melbourne comics festival that celebrates independent artists. Nathan is a Copic Marker Ambassador and has worked for clients such as Marvel and Upper Deck.
